The Springfield Chamber wanted their book to visually define Springfield and the region in a single word, “community.” Readers of Celebrating Springfield—A Photographic Portrait are quickly immersed into a visual tour of this quintessential Midwest community. From former railroad boomtown turned metropolitan city to its close-knit neighborhoods that blend traditional homes with new urban developments, Springfield is a community of big city amenities mixed with small-town comforts. Within these pages, you’ll sit with locals at the best places to eat and drink, share loft-level views of downtown, and go boating and bass fishing on Ozarks lakes. The journey will take you along the Medical Mile, where thousands practice health care, and to Jordan Valley Park, the exciting new development that mixes green and public spaces.
